Do you refer to Laura Dean? Tympani?

 Check out the book:

Anne Livet. Contemporary Dance. NY: Abbeville Press, Inc, 1978. Includes
some drawings/sketches made by the choreographers: Trisha Brown, Laura
Dean, Lucinda Childs, who all used geometrical patterning/formalistic
structures in their work in the 70's.
