Greetings all, I've been meaning to write for a couple of months with a brief report on Systems=Nothing, the show Lisa Russo and I did at Mills back in December (the "intermedia" performance that was announced on this list at that time). While we have yet to get a full written synopsis on paper, the main reason to report to this list was to publicly thank Mark Coniglio for his great new software, Isadora. We used the software extensively during rehearsals and performance and it proved itself to be extremely reliable, accessible, and exciting to us. For the show, we ended up using it on two laptops in combination with live video, recorded video and audio, and plexiglass touch screens. We were particularly pleased to use the live video filtering/processing/delay with the aerial dance in our piece. And so, in an unsolicited plug for Mark and Dawn's Live-I Workshop, I would strongly urge anyone with an interest in bringing this sort of technology to their work to think seriously about attending. The software is quite wonderful and very approachable for techies and non-techies alike. And, the rest of the workshop is really enjoyable (I was there last summer). I still hope to provide a more thorough report on the show itself at some point. But for now, best to everyone. Cheers, Peter
