Technical Director, Department of Dance Part-time 0.83 FTE Replacement for an existing position Part-time position (0.83 FTE, August 15 - June 15) available in both Departments of Dance (primary) and Art (secondary) at St. Olaf College. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities of the position fall into the following three areas, listed in descending order of priority: 1. Production Management/Technical Direction - Oversee all aspects relating to technical direction and production of dance department performances, touring, and other events. 2. Dance Technology and Media Development - Serve as department team member and liaison with College computer technology and media services personnel to coordinate planning, implementing and maintaining of computer, audio, and video equipment in the Dance and Art Departments. 3. Facility Management - Serve as liaison between dance faculty and college physical plant personnel and with suppliers, supervising maintenance of facilities to ensure safety and optimal performance of students, faculty and guest artists. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Dance or Theatre with specialization in production; two-three years experience in technical theater, in professional or academic environment; expertise in computer technology and theatrical mixed-media production; communication skills; management and organizational skills; experience in light design for dance a must; MFA preferred.
