I think it's worth a visit. Best regards, Andreas ---> *** sorry for crossposting *** <--- post theater (new york / berlin) presents The Last Circus A Multi Media Performance / Installation by Hiroko Tanahashi In the near future, advanced simulation technology replaced live performance art. The Golden Circus strives for its survival as the last remaining troupe. Its director Toto brings the last acrobat Halo onto the street to show people the beauty of their ancient art. Hiroko Tanahashi has created an interactive environment in which a very small audience experiences a narrative. Equipped with raingear, the audience discovers their impact on an enchanted world. Sensor-triggered computer technology meets a live performance. The spectators find themselves in a hybrid of an installation piece and a theater performance. For several international projects, it has been post theater's aim to blur boundaries between theater, new media and visual arts. Hiroko Tanahashi has been art director of most post theater productions. She tries to employ technology as more than just an ornamental element of a piece. The Last Circus deals with the issues of technology and the poetic. Will there be a future nostalgia about lost art forms? When we see a juggling tightrope walker dancing on umbrellas - can a computer projected image become a captivating reality to us? For only three days The Last Circus is in town! This is you last chance to see a dying species of spectacle! Due to its fragile condition, we can only allow a handful of people per performance.
