The following message was posted to: dance-tech Arts Technologies Developer & Theorist/Senior Lecturer The Institute for Studies in the Arts (ISA) (http://isa.asu.edu) at the Herberger College of Fine Arts (HCFA) at Arizona State University (ASU) is seeking an artist, researcher and teacher specializing in arts technologies development and theory. The successful candidate will collaborate with artists, engineers and researchers from other disciplines in state of the art facilities including motion capture studios, mediated performance stages, and engineering studios. Work will be conducted in the parallel, integrated development of hardware, software, content and theory for media and arts. Responsibilities also include the presentation of papers, research, teaching, grant development, and industry collaboration and participation. The ISA in collaboration with the other units of the HCFA (Dance, Music, Visual Arts, Theatre, & Museum), the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and other disciplines at ASU, supports creation, research, development, presentation and education at the intersection of the arts and technology. This is a 3 year, renewable appointment. Minimum qualifications are Masters degree in a related discipline and 3 years of related professional experience or a Ph.D. in a related discipline; a strong record of creation and presentation of art works involving technology; demonstrated programming and interface development knowledge; research record in arts and technology including papers, grants and participation in interdisciplinary research projects. A Ph.D. in related field is desired.
