Screenplay: The Next Level

Friday 25-Sunday 27 February 2005
Broadway Cinema, Nottingham, UK

Broadway presents Britain's only independent festival dedicated to
celebrating and exploring the ever-growing world of the computer game
and its relationship to interactive art and media. This
year Screenplay 5 returns to welcome makers, thinkers and players for a
weekend of hot gaming, cool fun and sharp talking.

The Festival Weekend launches into action on the Friday with attract mode,
Screenplay's club night featuring game-inspired electronica and visuals.

  Weekend Highlights include:

         * A live web-streamed Q&A with Matt 
Smith, creator of 80s classics Manic
Miner and Jet Set       Willy

         * Massive knockout contest on the big screen with the e-games league,
including Halo 2 and    dance mats

         * Experience new game prototypes using PDAs and our Regain The Game
selection of new        independents

         * Play Pavement Pong out in the street!

         * A special look at Machinima, 'the future of new entertainment'

         * A ride through the history of the shoot-em-up

         * The return of Reactor with more 
game-based GHAOS... and the hardest quiz
in the world

         * Play classic arcade games including an original Star Wars cockpit

         All this and much more, to a soundtrack of bouncing Gameboy music from
Little Boy Blue,        an exhibition of Street 
Fighter characters in cross-stitch
and Sheffield's Media Lounge    mixing it up on the Sunday night for closing
party fun n games

Screenplay attracts a unique range of people and is a wonderful opportunity
to talk and meet.

Saturday at Screenplay features special Education events including
games-making workshops and games industry training and vocational info, and
throughout the Festival you can dip into a series of Innovations, Sideshows
and Projects & Prototypes
